Forterra Strengthens Battlefield Autonomy Portfolio with new MESA Vehicle, Extending Mission Capability to the Last Tactical Mile Washington, D.C., April 28, 2026 — Forterra and Polaris today announced MESA, a new autonomous ground vehicle based on a modified Polaris Ranger XD 1500 and equipped with Forterra's AutoDrive autonomy stack and Vektor communications capability designed to work in low-bandwidth environments. 'Because MESA is built in direct partnership with Polaris, every vehicle comes off the same market-leading production line that delivers Polaris platforms globally, with all modifications executed alongside the OEM,' said Pat Acox, Vice President of Defense Growth at Forterra. The vehicle has L-track mounting and a flat deck design, allowing for interchangeable payloads of up to 2,000 lbs. MESA is designed for both logistics and casualty evacuation operations up to the last tactical mile.
